Recent news of the Kentucky Wildcats in the transfer portal has fans in the Bluegrass State nervous. Reports have forward Donnie Freeman leaning towards St. John's instead of the Cats, and now center Eric Reibe, who Kentucky contacted as well, has committed to USC.
Reibe didn't take a visit to Kentucky, so getting him was a long shot, but it's another player that the Wildcats and Pope weren't able to get. With a frontcourt that badly in need of some additions, it's tough to see them continue to miss on players. Former Colorado forward Sebastian Rancik also committed elsewhere in the past few days.
It's important to note that Reibe didn't seem to be a priority for Kentucky. They spoke to him, and were looking to schedule a visit, but it never materialized. Now the former top 40 recruit will head west to play with the Trojans.
There are still a few frontcourt options remaining that Kentucky has targeted, so hope is still there. However, every miss leaves them with a little less, and leaves fans a little more worried. Good luck to Reibe in California.
