Wayne Rooney has shared his thoughts on yesterday's thrilling 1-1 draw between Liverpool and Chelsea at Anfield, a match that left fans from both sides frustrated and vocal.

The game saw two struggling giants collide, with tensions running high throughout. Chelsea fans were left fuming after their team conceded yet another early goal within the first five minutes, while Liverpool supporters were booing their side off the pitch at full time, as the Blues looked like the stronger team for much of the match.

Speaking about the encounter, the former Manchester United star offered a balanced take. "I thought Liverpool actually started quite well, got the goal, and then from there Chelsea were the better team," Rooney said, as relayed by The Metro. "They caused Liverpool big problems, especially Marc Cucurella running behind."

Rooney also noted the unusual tension among Liverpool's home crowd. "The crowd were obviously a bit edgy, which you very rarely get from Liverpool fans. You never like to see that, but it comes from not having the season they hoped for, and after spending a lot of money."

Cucurella's energetic runs were a standout feature, constantly troubling Liverpool's defense and creating opportunities for Chelsea. The Spaniard's performance highlighted the Blues' growing confidence after a difficult period.

Adding to the drama, former Chelsea winger Joe Cole has suggested some bold moves for the club to turn their season around, while Levi Colwill expressed relief after making his first appearance of the season following a serious injury, helping Chelsea secure a hard-earned point at Anfield.

For Chelsea fans, this draw might feel like a small step forward, but with Rooney's praise and a spirited display, there are signs of a team finding its rhythm again.
