Erling Haaland might be sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League scoring charts, but the Manchester City star isn't exactly popping champagne over his numbers. The Norwegian striker netted again on Saturday as City cruised to a 3-0 victory over Brentford at the Etihad, bouncing back from Monday's dramatic 3-3 draw with Everton.

Jeremy Doku broke the deadlock just past the hour mark, and Omar Marmoush sealed the win in stoppage time after a slick assist from Haaland. But despite the comfortable scoreline, Haaland's reaction was characteristically measured. "It feels good to win 3-0," he told Sky Sports. "We just missed the last shot on goal today. We created a lot of chances and didn't get the last shot on a lot of crosses. Brentford defended well. They are a good team. There are no easy games in the Premier League. So we are happy."

With 26 league goals this season, Haaland sits four clear of Brentford's Igor Thiago in the Golden Boot race. That tally already surpasses his total from last season, yet the striker's standards remain sky-high. "It's alright," he said. "It's been an up and down season. I am trying to do my job and 26 goals is more than last year. So it's okay."

That "okay" is telling for a player who has redefined goal-scoring expectations since arriving in Manchester. After a five-game drought earlier in the campaign, Haaland has now found the net in four consecutive league matches—a timely return to form as City chase another title. The win cuts the gap to leaders Arsenal to just two points, and the message from the dressing room is clear. "If you play for Manchester City, you think of titles every single day."

City are back in action Wednesday against Crystal Palace, but Haaland isn't looking past the recovery room. "I haven't thought of any other game. Just tired playing this game. How we approach the next game is not think of any other games for two days and then try to win the next game. Recover. Then next game and the same again."
