With the 2026 NFL Draft complete, contenders have reloaded, pretenders have tried to catch up, and optimism for some teams is much higher than it was just a week ago. While projections this time of year are never perfect, roster construction, quarterback play, and overall direction give us a strong early look at who’s built to compete for Super Bowl 61. Here are the eight teams best positioned to make that run.

The Philadelphia Eagles continue to operate at a different level. Elite roster depth, strong line play, and smart drafting keep them firmly at the top. They don’t just contend, they sustain it. After another strong draft, this remains the most complete team in football; they just need to avoid all the off-field drama.

The Denver Broncos are one of the most dangerous teams in the league. Their draft added key pieces to an already ascending roster, and their trajectory is clear: they’re ready to compete now. If their offensive consistency matches their defensive potential, they’re a legitimate Super Bowl threat. They would have almost assuredly been in the Super Bowl a season ago had Bo Nix not gotten injured.

The Seattle Seahawks are defending Super Bowl champions. Their draft class added depth, and if their young core continues to develop, Seattle could make another run at the Super Bowl. Their defense remains one of the best units in the league.

Never count out the Los Angeles Rams. With a mix of veterans and emerging talent, the Rams look like a team that could peak at the right time once again. They were arguably the second-best team in the NFL a year ago, and the only team that seemed to really stand a chance against the Seahawks. Despite a low draft grade, they are poised to compete.

The Houston Texans are a legitimate contender thanks to their elite defense. Their draft continued to build around a rising core, and their offense has the potential to be one of the most explosive units in the league. If the offensive line holds up and Stroud can avoid all the turnovers, this team could make a deep run.

The Buffalo Bills remain firmly in the conversation. They addressed key needs this offseason and still have the foundation of a championship-caliber team thanks to Josh Allen being their QB. The question isn’t talent, it’s execution in big moments. If that clicks, they’re right there.

The Chicago Bears are one of the most intriguing teams in the league. Their rebuild happened much faster than expected and has turned into something real. Their draft was ranked middle of the pack; however, this was already a young, dynamic roster, and they have the upside to be even better than they were last season and potentially take another step forward.

The Dallas Cowboys had one of the best offenses in the NFL a season ago, but their defense was one of the worst, and it kept them out of the playoff mix. Their draft added a ton of defensive talent, and their roster now looks strong across the board. The challenge, as always, will be translating that talent into postseason success.
