Saturday's 5A Region II track meet in Arlington delivered plenty of excitement as athletes battled for team and individual glory. When the dust settled, Frisco Heritage's boys and Midlothian Heritage's girls emerged as the team champions, setting the stage for what promises to be a thrilling state championship push.

The boys' competition saw standout performances across multiple events. Zion Isaiah Raheem Williams of Carr. Newman Smith blazed to a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a swift 10.51 seconds, showcasing the depth of sprint talent in the region. Red Oak's 4x100 relay team—featuring Charles Askew, Daylan Johnson, Billy 'Tre' Middleton III, and Dhillon McGee—took the top spot with a time of 40.79 seconds, demonstrating precision and speed in their exchanges.

Frisco Heritage's boys made their mark in the 4x200 relay, with Jon Nielsen, Ruben Egharevba, Peyton Holland, and Ke'onte Ross combining for a winning time of 1:25.33. The team's chemistry was evident as they executed their handoffs flawlessly. In the 4x400 relay, Lake Belton's squad of Prince Moore, KJ Bridges, Zion Harness, and Kendrick Jones Jr. claimed victory in 3:16.88, showing their endurance and closing speed.

On the girls' side, Midlothian Heritage's Kaidyn Johnson-Gilmore soared to first place in the high jump, clearing 5 feet 5 inches with impressive form. Prosper Walnut Grove's Lauren Carrothers dominated the shot put, launching a winning throw of 40 feet 5.50 inches, a mark that signals her readiness for the next level.

Prosper Walnut Grove's girls were a force in the relays, winning both the 4x100 and 4x200 with identical lineups of Gabrielle Scott, Emma Davis, Cassidy Grant, and Jaila Edwards. Their times of 45.84 seconds and 1:37.64 respectively highlighted their consistency and teamwork. Red Oak's girls closed the meet strong in the 4x400 relay, with Brianna Simien, Maya Ward, Shanaya Ward, and Zahria Bernard crossing the line first in 3:44.84.
