The Philadelphia Eagles, along with the entire NFL, will cut down their roster throughout the remainder of the offseason. Through training camp, the preseason, and overall practices, guys will win position battles for starting and depth roles. Who are some players who may be in trouble following the 2026 NFL Draft for Philly?

The roster shuffle entering the start of the NFL season isn’t easy on anyone. Coaches, executives, and players all feel it, and some depth for the Philadelphia Eagles will have to be cut or head to the practice squad during the cutdown. With that, I highlighted five players who could be on the chopping block after the 2026 NFL Draft for the Birds.

Majors will compete with Drew Kendall for the backup center job in Philly most likely. As the depth chart sits currently, it feels like Kendall may have the upper hand as a fifth-round pick last year. Meanwhile, Majors was a UDFA and has moved around multiple different teams so far early in his pro career. I will give Kendall the nod here, especially if the Eagles don’t add a veteran backup at the position.

Adding rookie TE Eli Stowers feels like a tough blow to Latu’s chances of being on the active roster to start the year. A trip to the practice squad feels more likely due to his skillset. Not to mention, the Eagles could juggle an extra wide receiver onto the active roster if they move off of A.J. Brown in a post-June 1 trade. That may take away a tight end spot for them when it comes to the roster bubble entering the season opener.

Steele is a bit of a tough projection, since he could play a fullback role for the team’s offense. That being said, I am not sure how much OC Sean Mannion would value that, especially since they have tight end depth with Stowers and veteran Johnny Mundt along the depth chart now. Steele, who signed following the season, could be an odd man out in that group.

McWilliams is a depth defensive back, who usually projects to play outside CB for Philly. He was the 145th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, so it may be tough for the Eagles to take that on the chin already.

That being said, they brought in Riq Woolen to start alongside Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. That pushes some other players down the depth chart, and McWilliams may lose his job to Jakorian Bennett and Kelee Ringo.

The Eagles weren’t active in adding interior DL talent this offseason, but they already had some depth and versatility there. Ty Robinson and Byron Young feel like better bets to make the active roster, and a player like rookie Uar Bernard may play his way into a backup role during training camp or the preseason due to his uncanny blend of athleticism and size.

Who are some other players you could see losing out on a roster spot ahead of Week 1? Will there be any huge surprises? Let us know via social media.
