Trent Williams wasn't the only San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman to get a new contract this week. Backup offensive tackle Austen Pleasants will also return to the 49ers after he signed his exclusive rights free agent tender, per multiple reports. The deal is worth $1.075 million in 2026, according to David Lombardi of the San Francisco Standard.
Pleasants, 28, has played for San Francisco since 2024, but has started just one game — Week 18 of the 2025 season. He previously played for the Carolina Panthers and the Los Angeles Chargers, as well as time on the practice squads of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals.
He should continue to be the direct backup to Williams, who will also remain with the 49ers on his new two-year contract.
The signing of Pleasants and Williams shouldn't really affect what the 49ers do in the 2026 NFL draft, but it the return of Williams likely rules out their interest in a first-round offensive tackel.
