They've done it. The San Francisco 49ers finally picked an offensive lineman in the 2026 NFL draft.

With the 127th overall pick, the 49ers selected Washington offensive tackle Carver Willis.

Willis' measurables indicate he may be on the move to the interior in the NFL. At the NFL combine he measured in at 6-5, 303 pounds with 32 1/2-inch arms.

It's easy to see why the 49ers would love his athleticism, though and with openings on the interior there's a more likely path to playing time that way if the 49ers do move Willis inside. However, his experience as an offensive tackle — 28 starts in 34 games — leaves the door open for him to stay at his natural position down the line.

Willis spent his first five college seasons at Kansas State where he played in 11 games with no starts in his first three years before securing a starting role in Year 4. He transferred to Washington for his sixth and final college season and held down the starting left tackle job for the Huskies.
