It is the Merseyside derby this weekend and I'm extremely nervous for this game of football. The main one being that it's the first Merseyside derby at their new home and I just reckon they're going to be so bought into not losing the first derby at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. At times Liverpool were bullied and you've got to put the hard yards in because you've got to be physical in these games of football when you face Everton and that is a problem for me because Liverpool this season have been so weak physically and mentally at times it feels like they haven't had a real backbone and if anything goes wrong in games of football it feels like they just can't bounce back from it and they cannot let that happen in this game.

The Merseyside derby is back, and this weekend’s clash carries a unique weight. For Liverpool, a victory at Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium would be particularly special, marking a statement win in the Toffees' new home. However, that very fact makes this fixture a monumental challenge. Everton’s players, manager, and a raucous home crowd will be utterly determined not to lose their first derby on this ground, creating an atmosphere that will test Liverpool’s mettle from the first whistle.

Recent history at Goodison Park provides a cautionary tale for the Reds. There have been occasions where Liverpool seemed unprepared for the ferocious physical and mental battle that defines this fixture. In the derby, you must be ready to fight for every yard; being bullied is not an option. This season, questions have emerged about Liverpool’s resilience and backbone in difficult moments. On Saturday, they cannot afford a slow start or a fragile response to adversity. They must match Everton’s intensity and physicality head-on.

The unpredictability of this Liverpool side adds another layer of intrigue. On their day, they can beat the very best, as they have shown in Europe. Yet, their inconsistent form makes it impossible to predict which version will show up. Will it be the confident, cohesive unit, or the side that has struggled at times? For the fans and the team, securing a win in this historic first derby at Everton’s new stadium would be a powerful moment, but it will require their most robust and determined performance of the season. The stage is set for a classic.
