Stankoven's scoring surge fuels a shutout victory. Hear from Brind'Amour, Andersen, and more on their dominant Game 1 performance.

The Carolina Hurricanes delivered a statement performance in Game 1 of their second-round series against the Philadelphia Flyers, cruising to a dominant 3-0 victory Saturday night at Lenovo Center. From the opening puck drop, the Canes set the tone with relentless pressure and suffocating defense, leaving no doubt about their intentions this postseason.

Logan Stankoven continued his torrid scoring pace, lighting the lamp twice to extend his playoff hot streak. Not to be outdone, Jackson Blake added a highlight-reel goal with a dazzling solo effort that had the home crowd on its feet. Between the pipes, Frederik Andersen was perfect, turning aside all 19 shots he faced to earn his second shutout of the playoffs.

After the game, head coach Rod Brind'Amour, along with Stankoven, Blake, Andersen, captain Jordan Staal, and defenseman Mike Reilly, shared their thoughts on the commanding performance.

Rod Brind'Amour on whether the team set a tone in Game 1:
"I don't know how much one game bleeds into the next. It's important to get a win, but you can't carry that over too much. Every game is its own battle."

On the team's fast start:
"We had a good start, obviously. That's what won us the game. There wasn't much happening after that, but that first period was the difference-maker."

On Logan Stankoven's line picking up where they left off:
"That was the big question—how we were gonna come out. That line answered it in a big way. They've been great all playoffs, not just for five games. It's been months of this level of play. They've been the difference for us."

On Mike Reilly stepping into the lineup:
"We were thinking Nikishin was gonna play, but he didn't. Reils has done this all year—in, out, missed 30 games, then comes right in and plays well. There's real value in having a veteran pro like that who's ready whenever his number is called."

On the team's extra defensive efforts:
"I think a lot of guys you could say that about. We did okay defensively, maybe not so much the other way, but it all counts. It's all the little plays—Miller made a great backcheck play that saved a goal."

The Hurricanes now look to build on this commanding start as the series shifts to Philadelphia. If Game 1 is any indication, this team is locked in and ready for a deep run.
