The Alabama Crimson Tide were defeated by the Tennessee Volunteers during a three-game set this weekend.
Alabama holds an overall record of 29-16 (10-11 SEC) following the series, as the Vols were able to take two-of-three games against the Tide following a Thursday night loss. Star pitcher Tyler Fay had yet another solid outing during Thursday’s lone win of the series, as Alabama as a whole were no match for the Vols offensively Friday.
Here are three takeaways from Alabama’s series loss vs. Tennessee.
Fay has played an essential role on the mound to begin each series for the Tide this season. The star flamethrower surrendered six hits and earned runs across five innings pitched, as Fay was able to bounce back, despite getting off to a rough start.
Fay has been excellent at Alabama this season, as the pitcher was able to help secure a 12-8 victory to open the series.
Hines has been widely regarded as one of the hottest hitters in Alabama's lineup recently. The star freshman went 2-for-5 against the Vols on Thursday, including a towering three-run home run in the sixth inning.

Hines has been excellent throughout the month of April, and the freshman was red hot this weekend against Tennessee once again.
Lebron has been considered to be one of the top overall players in college baseball this season, despite struggling as of late. The star shortstop recorded just two total hits across three games vs. Tennessee, as Lebron was a non-factor during games two and three of the series.
The talented shortstop could undoubtedly bounce back in the near future, but Lebron’s struggles have ultimately taken a toll on the Tide as a whole.
Alabama will face the Vanderbilt Commodores in a three game series beginning on April 30, as the Tide will look to get back in the win column and secure yet another series victory.
