The Tennessee Volunteers are already looking ahead to the 2027 signing class, and they've just landed a major visit from one of the state's top defensive prospects. Four-star defensive end Antwan Jackson has scheduled an official visit to Knoxville for June 19, according to Chad Simmons of On3. The in-state standout from Collierville High School will also make summer trips to Alabama, Ole Miss, and Missouri.

Standing at an imposing 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds, Jackson is the kind of edge rusher who can change the trajectory of a defense. 247Sports currently ranks him as the No. 29 defensive end in the 2027 class and the No. 17 overall prospect in Tennessee. That's elite company, and it's easy to see why the Vols are making him a priority.

Tennessee extended a scholarship offer to Jackson on November 16, 2025, and he got an early taste of Rocky Top during the Vols' Orange & White Game on April 11. That spring showcase gave him a firsthand look at the program's culture and the electric atmosphere at Neyland Stadium.

Jackson's recruitment has been heating up for a while. Memphis was the first school to offer him back on June 20, 2024, and since then, his list has grown to include LSU, Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida State, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and many more. With that kind of national attention, locking in an official visit is a big win for Tennessee's coaching staff.

The Vols are building momentum in the 2027 cycle, already holding seven commitments: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, wide receiver KeSean Bowman, and defensive back Carter Jamison. Adding a player of Jackson's caliber would be a statement piece for this class.

For Volunteers fans, this is one to watch. Jackson has the size, athleticism, and in-state pride that could make him a cornerstone of Tennessee's defensive line for years to come.
