Big news out of Knoxville as Tennessee football lands a promising young talent for its 2027 recruiting class. Three-star defensive back Carter Jamison has officially committed to the Vols, according to Chad Simmons of On3.
Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 180 pounds, Jamison hails from Creekside High School in Fairburn, Georgia—the same school that produced Vols legends Eric Berry, Evan Berry, and Elliott Berry. That's some serious legacy to follow, and Jamison is already making his mark.
Ranked as the No. 101 safety in the 2027 class and the No. 115 player in Georgia by 247Sports, Jamison is a rising star with plenty of room to grow. Tennessee was quick to recognize his potential, becoming the first school to offer him a scholarship back on February 17. He made an unofficial visit to campus for a spring practice on April 2 and is scheduled for an official visit on June 19.
Jamison's recruitment was heating up fast, with offers also coming from USF, Charlotte, UNLV, Western Michigan, Liberty, Colorado State, Eastern Kentucky, and East Carolina. But Tennessee's early interest and strong connection sealed the deal.
He joins a growing 2027 class that now features seven commitments, including linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, and wide receiver KeSean Bowman. The Vols are building for the future, and this Georgia product is a key piece of the puzzle.
