Michigan Football is making serious moves on the recruiting trail, and one of the nation's top young pass rushers is taking notice. 2027 edge rusher Uhlia Wolfgramm, a standout from Spanish Fork (Utah) Maple Mountain, recently told Rivals he plans to take just five official visits before making his college decision—and the Wolverines are firmly in the mix for one of those coveted spots.
Wolfgramm made the cross-country trip to Ann Arbor in April alongside fellow 2027 edge target Jag Ioane, and the experience left a lasting impression. "It was great, loved it," Wolfgramm shared with Maize n Brew. "Coach Powell is like an uncle to me, so it was a great time. I knew the coaches from here in Utah when they recruited me at Utah and BYU, so it felt like home. Great academics and community."
That connection with defensive ends coach Lewis Powell has been key. Powell extended an offer to Wolfgramm at the end of March, and the relationship has only deepened since. But it's not just Powell making the push—head coach Kyle Whittingham, who built a powerhouse at Utah before taking the helm in Ann Arbor, is also heavily involved in prioritizing Wolfgramm.
"It’s great, even talking with the players and how much it’s changed for the better at Michigan, you can feel it," Wolfgramm said. "He’s had a great career at Utah and will take that to Michigan."
Wolfgramm has already locked in official visits to UCLA (May 15), Oklahoma (June 12), and BYU (June 19), with Utah, North Carolina, and Arizona State also in the mix. But Michigan is very much in the conversation. "Michigan is currently one of my top teams," Wolfgramm confirmed. "I’ll be returning for an official visit but need to find the date that will work best, but will take an OV for sure."
The Wolverines are looking to build on their 2027 class, which already includes two West Region prospects, most notably four-star quarterback Kamden Lopati. Adding a disruptive edge rusher like Wolfgramm would be a major win—and a sign that Michigan's pull extends well beyond the Midwest.
