The 2026 UIL state track and field championships delivered unforgettable performances at Austin's Mike A. Myers Stadium from May 14-16, with Dallas-area athletes and teams making a powerful statement on the podium. This year's meet showcased incredible depth, from sprint dominance to field event excellence, and the results are in.

In the team standings, the Lincoln girls captured the 4A state title with a commanding performance, while Carter's star athlete Charles Anderson stole the show with a golden double. Anderson blazed to victory in the 400 meters with a time of 46.93 and followed it up with a 1:54.57 win in the 800 meters, cementing his place as one of the meet's most versatile standouts.

The boys' 4A team race was a tight battle at the top. Canyon claimed the championship with 57 points, followed by Austin Johnson with 44, Carter with 42, and a four-way tie for fourth between Houston Worthing, Tyler Chapel Hill, Stephenville, and Sealy.

In the field events, the high jump saw a thrilling tie for first as Brycen Williams of Canyon West Plains and Kobe Prejean of Hamshire-Fannett both cleared 6-7, with Ethan Parker of Alvarado taking third at 6-6. The long jump belonged to Cayden Brooks of FW Dunbar, who soared 23-10.5 for gold, followed by Jeremiah Caldwell of Taylor at 22-10 and Rowdy Esparza of Devine at 22-9.75.

Ke'Rion Green of Tyler Chapel Hill dominated the triple jump with a mark of 48-0.5, outpacing Brooks who added a silver at 47-6.5. In the throws, Kelton Burgoon of Canyon unleashed a winning discus toss of 188-7, while Kolton Dearth of Stephenville claimed the shot put title at 61-2.5.

The pole vault saw Dane Mignerey of Wimberley clear 16-0 for gold, with Matthew Portillo of Clint at 15-9 and Kylar Mills of Stephenville at 15-6 rounding out the podium.

On the track, Jah'Quan McAfee of La Marque was a force in the sprints, winning both the 100 meters in 10.27 and the 200 meters in 21.02. The 400 meters saw Charles Anderson's winning 46.93, while the 800 meters went to Anderson again in 1:54.57. In the distance events, Kaden Cypert of Floresville took the 1,600 meters in 4:16.23, and Domenic San Miguel of Canyon won the 3,200 meters in 9:04.51.

For Dallas-area fans, this year's state meet was a showcase of rising stars and proven champions, setting the stage for even more excitement in seasons to come.
