Kristoffer Reitan will head to the PGA Championship with a win under his belt.

Kristoffer Reitan is heading to the PGA Championship with some serious momentum after claiming his first-ever PGA Tour victory at the 2026 Truist Championship. The 26-year-old Norwegian held off a charging Rickie Fowler and a tight leaderboard at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina, to secure a two-shot win and a career-changing payday.

Reitan posted a steady 2-under 69 in Sunday's final round, finishing at 14-under par overall. It was a breakthrough moment for the DP World Tour graduate, who earned his PGA Tour card through last year's qualifying series. The win not only locks up his playing status but also punches his ticket to next week's PGA Championship—a reward every young pro dreams of.

For a while, it looked like the story might belong to Rickie Fowler. The longtime fan favorite started the day seven shots back but caught fire on the front nine, turning at 5-under for his round. Fowler kept rolling, taking the solo lead late on the back nine and putting himself in position for his first Tour win since 2024. But a missed birdie putt at the 16th and a bogey at the 18th left him with a 6-under 65 and a seat in the clubhouse—one shot behind a three-way tie for the lead.

Fowler has been knocking on the door all season, with four top-20 finishes in his first five events and back-to-back top-10s coming into this week, including a T9 at last week's Cadillac Championship. He also climbed to No. 52 in the Official World Golf Rankings, his best position since mid-2024. But on this Sunday, it wasn't quite enough.

While Fowler watched from inside, Reitan answered with back-to-back birdies of his own. The decisive moment came when Alex Fitzpatrick—who started the day with the solo lead—made double bogey at the par-3 17th. That opened the door, and Reitan walked right through. He reached the 18th green in regulation and calmly tapped in for par to seal the win. Over the weekend, he racked up 11 birdies and an eagle on Quail Hollow's demanding back nine alone.

Reitan, who finished T41 at the Masters last month, now has three top-10 finishes in his young PGA Tour career. With a first win under his belt and a major championship on the horizon, this is just the beginning for one of golf's rising stars.
