The second round of the 2026 PGA Championship is heating up at Aronimink Golf Club, and while the leaderboard is packed with talent, the real Friday drama revolves around one thing: the cut line.
Here's what you need to know about the cut rules, where the line is projected to land, and which big names are fighting to stick around for the weekend.
How the cut works
The PGA Championship starts with 156 players, but by the end of Friday, only the top 70 players (including ties) will advance. That's the largest cut in major championship golf—the Masters trims to the top 50, the U.S. Open cuts to the top 65, and The Open Championship also uses the top-70 rule.
Projected cut line
With many players still in the middle of their second rounds, the cut line is already taking shape. According to Data Golf, the line is projected to fall at either three or four over par. As of early afternoon Friday, there's a 36.8 percent chance the cut lands at three over, a 58.9 percent chance it lands at four over, and just a 2.9 percent chance it slips to five over.
Bubble players to watch
Several notable names are currently on the wrong side of the cut line and will need strong finishes to play the weekend. Keep an eye on these players as they navigate the back nine at Aronimink—every shot counts when you're fighting to stay in a major championship.
