The Detroit Lions have selected former Michigan Wolverines defensive end Derrick Moore at No. 44 overall in the 2nd round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

A Baltimore, Maryland native, Moore stands at 6-foot-4, 255 pounds and was a productive player for all four of his years in Ann Arbor

Moore finished his career with 24.5 tackles for loss, 21 sacks, first-team All-Big Ten and captain honors in 2025, honorable mention All-Big Ten in 2023 and 2024 and was a key piece of the 2023 National Championship-winning team.

He can line up anywhere from the three-tech (though undersized) to the wide nine, primarily relying on his bull rush to overpower tackles and attack the quarterback, where he is a sure tackler and finisher. Moore will need a more refined pass rush arsenal to thrive at the next level and can still improve against the run.

The X’s can rely on him early in obvious passing situations and should expect to eventually use him in a three-down role upon reaching his potential.
