The 2026 NBA Draft Lottery is set to take place this Sunday in Chicago, bringing an end to one of the most intense tank races in recent NBA history. Unlike last year, when Cooper Flagg was the clear-cut top prize, this draft class lacks a consensus No. 1 pick—but BYU standout AJ Dybantsa is beginning to separate himself from the pack as the projected top selection.

The lottery will determine the first 14 picks of the 2026 NBA Draft, including the coveted No. 1 overall pick. The drawing will be held in a private room in Chicago, with the results unveiled live on ESPN at 3 p.m. ET. The Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, and Brooklyn Nets each hold the best odds at 14% to land the top pick, while the Sacramento Kings and Utah Jazz—tied for the fourth-worst record—have an 11.5% chance each.

Here's how the lottery works: The NBA conducts drawings for the first four picks, with 1,000 of the 1,001 possible combinations assigned to lottery teams. Ping-pong balls are then drawn to produce a winning combination, determining the order. This process is repeated for the second, third, and fourth picks. The remaining lottery teams (outside the top four) will pick in inverse order of their regular-season records.

The Wizards finished with the worst record in the 2025-26 season, earning a 14% chance to win the lottery. The Pacers, with the second-worst record, also have 14% odds. Below is the full odds board for each team to secure the No. 1 pick and their chances of landing in the top four.

While these rankings may shift before the draft, here are the current top prospects on Adam Finkelstein's NBA Draft Big Board, with the complete list available here.
