2026 Mountain West Softball Power Rankings: Week 10

With just three weeks left in the 2026 season, let’s take a look at where every MW team sits.

The 2026 Mountain West softball season is entering its final stretch, and Week 10 brought a welcome dose of predictability. With just three weeks left on the calendar, the playoff picture is coming into sharp focus. Some teams are solidifying their spots for the conference tournament, while others are seeing their postseason hopes fade. As we gear up for the pivotal Week 11, here’s where every team in the MW currently stands.

The action continues this week with a key series, as teams face off against Colorado State (20-21) in a three-game set from April 17-19, followed by a non-conference matchup at Northern Colorado (19-22) on April 20. Every pitch counts now.

Despite a shaky Game 1 loss to New Mexico—a concerning trend that marks their fifth loss this season to teams ranked 101st or worse in RPI—the Nevada Wolf Pack did enough to hold onto the top spot this week. Their series sweep over San Diego State was crucial. However, with their RPI now sitting behind all 15 SEC teams, the Pack must find consistency fast to keep their at-large bid hopes alive. A dominant three-game sweep of Pacific to close the week might be the spark they need.

Nevada's claim to the #1 ranking is powered by the most fearsome offense in the conference. They lead the MW in batting average (.338) and extra-base hits (142), while sitting a close second in OPS (.973). The lineup is fueled by record-breaking performances: MW Player of the Week Hannah Di Genova made history, smashing the program's single-season home run record (now at 20) and RBI record (65). Meanwhile, freshman phenom Katie Wetteland earned MW Freshman of the Week, and Madison Clark continues her national Player of the Year-caliber campaign, ranking sixth in the country with a .500 average and leading the nation with 81 hits—just three shy of Nevada's single-season record.
